Christmas!!!

So I've been trying to edit my last
post for days now and it wouldn't let
me, that is why it looked so crazy.
My sister was my witness, so I finally
got it edited and it only took a few hours.

Christmas Eve day was spent with my
dad's mom and his sister's family. We
went to my grandmother's that day, it
was a little different this year without
my grandfather there to tell jokes, but
we know he was looking down on us. Then
that night we always go to Seth's family.
It is always so exciting up there with seven
kids anxiously awaiting to open their
presents, but it is so much fun. Seth's
grandma got to come in this year from
California to spend it with us. It was a
wonderful night!

Frosty)

She was so exicted about the little
people she got from grammy and papa.

So Christmas morning was the best ever!!! I
woke early that morning to shower so I could
ready, when I heard little foot steps running
thru the house. She came running into the
bathroom carrying her bouncy ball and said
"ball mommy, come on". She was so excited
to see what Santa brought her and open her
gifts from Seth and I. So excited she peed her
pants! I can only hope every Christmas is this
special!

I could have saved so much money if I would have
known all she wanted was play dough and chap
stick!

Her next favorite thing...chap stick!

Her new pink jeep!

Her refridgerator to match her
kitchen from Santa

Cara Lee got lots of stuff for her
baby dolls. Santa brougt her a
crib for her Bitty Baby. She also
got a high chair, bath tub, diaper
bag, and stroller. She loves it all!

Megan and Wes got her a new stroller

Getting Ready for Christmas

So I've been trying to get ready for Christmas over
the last few weeks. We have the tree and decorations
up. I've been introducing Cara Lee to some of the
great Christmas classics, like Rudolph, Charlie Brown, and
Frosty. She loves to sing Frosty the Snowman, and
knows most of the words. She likes Santa but only
from a distance. When you get up close, she tenses up
and starts yelling "NO", so I did not try to make her sit
in his lap yet. We made a gingerbread house yesterday
and I plan on attempting cookies in the next week.

Us all bundled up at the christmas parade

Putting the candies on our gingerbread house

Watching me trying to put icing on it

So when we finished she immediately
tried to eat it!!

These are Cara Lee's gingerbread houses she made.
She made the one on the right at my mother-in-law's.
Every year Linda has the kids up to make ornaments
for the "Grandkids" tree, but this year they all made
their own gingerbread houses and trees.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. It is a time to be thankful for what the Lord has given to us, and this year I have so much to be thankful for. I have a wonderful husband who takes care of me and a beautiful daughter who makes me so happy everyday. I have one of the best families in the world and wonderful friends.

I was lucky this year to be off work, so when we woke up Cara Lee and I watched the Macy's Parade. She didn't pay a lot of attention to it, but I enjoyed it. We always spend Thanksgiving with my family because Seth's family always travels. We had lots of delicious food and good laughs as always!

That night, it's kinda a tradition, we put up our Christmas tree. Cara Lee really enjoyed putting the tree up this year. She loved the ornaments!!! Of course, most of our ornaments are on the bottoms limbs all in a roll, but she had so much fun doing it, which is what matters!

Then of course comes one of my favorites, Black Friday!!! I am one of the crazies who gets up at 3 am to go to Wal Mart. I had finished with Cara Lee's shopping, but I couldn't resist the Barbie power wheels that was on sale. Then my sister, mom and I went Target and Dick's sporting goods. We got lots of great deals, had a fun time together, and spent lots of money!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Weekend Getaway

This past weekend we went to Pigeon Forge with The Copeland's. The weather was absolutely perfect. Maddux started off the weekend sick, Cara Lee threw up once and Mitch "said" he was sick, but overall it was a great weekend.
We stayed at The Wilderness of the Smokies, so the kiddos could play at the indoor waterpark. It was the perfect place to stay and would recommend it to anyone with kids. Stacey and I went shopping all day on Saturday. It was very busy, but we got lots of Christmas shopping done. I think we only walked about 5 miles that day.
Sunday on our way home, we decided to stop off at the zoo. It was lots of fun! The kids enjoyed certain parts of it, but it was a fun family day!
She is already driving us around!
At the wee zoo, she climbed thru a tunnel to go thru the barn

In front of the zebras, notice the matching outfit!

At the petting zoo, as a lot of you know my child will NOT touch animals, but
she did at least let us get a picture.

Riding on the turtle

Cara Lee only went down the slide a couple of hundred times!!!
Cara Lee and Maddux loved the indoor waterpark.
It was lots of fun!!!

We attempted to play putt putt for dinner, I think we made it thru 12 holes!

Pictures Are Here

Our family pictures are here, these are a just a few of my favorites...

Love her look, we see it too often

Family Pics

So we just got home from having our family pictures made. We drove out to Kellie Fitzpatrick's home (Red Letter Days) and got some great shots. Cara Lee didn't want to participate in the beginning but then she got the hang of it. They will be back in about 2 weeks, I can't wait to see them and post them!

The Beginning:

So I saw some really cute blogs lately and decided to try it out myself. It has already taken me days to try and figure it out, so I don't know how great at this I'll be. I have tried and tried to figure out how to post pictures and still don't know how. This will be a learning experience to say the least !

Most of you know everything about me and my family, I grew up in Livingston and Seth in Cookeville. We meet on a blind date, going into my Junior year in college. My best friend, Stacey set us after she was asked out my Seth and said no for other reasons. We dated for a year and a half and got engaged. We were married in August 2005.

In September 2007 we had a beautiful baby girl, Cara Lee. She has truly changed our lives! She is full of energy, funny, and the sweetest little girl ever, but she's hit the 'terrible twos' and can be a handful at time, to say the least! She loves watching Dora the Explorer, we have to watch it every morning and usually at night too. She is also taking ballet classes, which she LOVES, but she doesn't always follow instruction. She keeps us very busy and on our toes all the time.

I work at Cookeville Regional Medical Center on the cardiac stepdown unit. I love my job on most days! Some days I wish I were at home with my daughter. Seth owns a landscaping and lawn care business, Double Precision, which keeps him very busy most days. He also manages out 31 rental properties.

We have a large family on both sides, which we love so much. They all give us lots of support and encouragement. We have wonderful friends and enjoy the time we get to spend with them. We go to church at Jefferson Ave. Church of Christ, our family there is great! I couldn't ask for a better church family and friends. Cara Lee also has lots of friends her age, which is great!

God has truly blessed me and my family!
